ArmInfo. The agenda of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) does not include a single currency issue, Minister in charge of Economy and Financial Policy of the Eurasian Economic Council (EEC) Timur Suleimenov told reporters on the sidelines of the 9th meeting of the Advisory Committee for Entrepreneurship of the Eurasian Economic Council in Yerevan.
He said that the issue of single currency in the EEU is being discussed at no forums or platforms. "We should have a harmonized currency regulation. We should ensure prevention of currency restrictions in mutual trade and should come to a common financial market. But this concerns the banking system. As regards the monetary
policy, it is under the national jurisdiction. There can be no single currency until the countries are ready to transfer that policy to the supranational level," he said.
