ArmInfo. In June 2016, the prices on the food market of Armenia dropped by 1.2% (2.6% y-o-y decline). In Jan-June 2016 the prices fell by 1.3% (down 4.5% versus Jan- June 2015).
The press office of the National Statistical Service of Armenia has told ArmInfo that vegetables and potatoes grew in price by 21.4% versus June 2015, and dropped by 18.3% versus May 2016.
In June 2016, eggs fell in price by 10.9%, meats products - by 1.2%. In the meantime, fruits rose in price by 27.4%, soft drinks - by 0.1%.
As compared to June 2015, meat products dropped in price by 4.5% (down 1.2% versus May 2016). Fish products fell in price by 2.9% (down 1.1% versus May 2016).
Animal fat and vegetable oil dropped in price by 2.7% versus June 2015 and by 0.3% versus May 2016. The average egg price in the republic declined by 21.5% versus June 2015 and by 10.9% versus May 2016.
Dairy products fell in price by 3.8% versus June 2015, and by 0.5% versus May 2016. In June 2016, granulated sugar price fell by 0.4%, cereals price - by 0.2%, alcohol and cigarette prices - by 0.2%. Coffee, tea and cocoa underwent no changes in prices in June 2016.
To note, in June 2016, the consumer market of Armenia saw 0.5% deflation (1.1% deflation versus June 2015). In Jan-June 2016 deflation made up 1% (1.5% deflation versus Jan-June 2015).
