ArmInfo. In Jan-June 2016, cargo traffic in Armenia increased by 90% versus Jan-June 2015, and totaled 8 733.6 thsd tons, including 6 787.2 thsd tons (78% of total cargo traffic) in motor transportation, according to the National Statistical Service of Armenia.
In Jan-June 2016, railway traffic grew by 1.6% to 1220.5 thsd tons, air traffic rose by 42.2% to 6.4 thsd tons. The natural gas supplied through the main pipeline made up 719.5 thsd tons, 5.2% less than in Jan-June 2015. The cargo turnover grew by 2.9% to 1 741.2 mln tons/km.
The passenger traffic dropped by 1.1% to 103028.5 thsd people. The passenger operations by car fell by 1.1% to 91 775.9 thsd people and those by rail fell by 1.8% to 154.9 thsd people, while passenger traffic by air rose by 0.2% to 846.1 thsd people and the passenger operations by electrical transport dropped by 0.8% to 10 251.6 thsd people. The passenger turnover increased by 2.2% to 1265.8 mln passengers per km.
