ArmInfo. Head of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Ajara Zurab Pataradze and Armenia's Consul General in Batumi Yeghishe Fargsyan met on August 11.
The sides stressed the need for a direct air communication between Yerevan and Batumi. Pataradze and Fargsyan said the direct flights will help develop tourism, according to Georgia-online. The sides discussed the possibilities of trade and economic cooperation and development of culture and tourism. The consul expressed readiness to help organizing joint cultural events.
The head of the Ajara Government, in turn, said Ajara and Armenia have been cooperating in various fields for many years already. Patarazde said Armenia with its attractions is very interesting to Ajara and urged steps to boost the cooperation in the field.
