ArmInfo.Demand for use of Armenian gas cylinders remains high in Russia, Shahen Arakelyan, Deputy Chief Industrial Engineer of Grant LLC of Hrazdan plant on producing gas cylinders, informed ArmInfo's correspondent at the annual "Made in Armenia" expo.
According to the specialist the company exports 80% of the products to the Russian market due to high demand. "For already 8 years we have been exporting our product on Russian market, which prefers Armenian gas cylinders due to their high quality", he noted. "The remaining amount of products are being exported to the countries, members of EEU", Arakelyan added.
At the same time according to the expert the decree signed by Prime Minister of Russia D. Medvedev on expanding use of natural gas as motor fuel significantly contributed to increase of demand on Russian market. In this light the company intends to increase the production two-fold by 2017 to 120 thousand cylinders annually. According to him 80 people are employed currently by the Grant LLC, however till 2017 the company plans to increase the number of employees to 150.
"In the beginning of our work the only obstacle hindering our development was lack of certificate of correspondence to international standards. However, due to efficient work we have received certificate of quality. And today our company works for enlarging production and raising the quality of products", Arakelyan summarized.
To note, Grant LLC was established in 2007. The production was launched in 2008. The company specializes on production of high-pressure gas cylinders for various cars and tracks.
According to the National Statistical Service of Armenia foreign trade turnover between Armenia and Russia in Jan-July 2016 made $684.6 mln with 10% y-o-y growth. Particularly, export increased by 71.8% to $196.6 mln amid drop of import by 3.9% to $488 mln.
