ArmInfo. Yandex is opening a School of Programmers in Yerevan for high-school students. This is an educational project for 8-10-formers, who want to get programming skills. The knowledge received can be applied in various areas of life.
The School of Programming provides a free training course comprising thematic lectures and seminars on programming. The course will be conducted through the example of the Python programming language, which enables settlement of numerous tasks. The demand it enjoys on the market is growing. The education program is developed at the Yandex School of Data Analysis, whose alumni are very popular on the IT market. Yandex will select and train lecturers and will invite the best specialists from Armenia, Russia and other countries to deliver thematic lectures.

The most progressive ideas and projects such as creation of robots, self-driving transport means, development of artificial intelligence cannot be carried out without programmers' participation," says Tigran Khudaverdyan, Director General of

The seminars and lectures will start in Jan 2017 and will be conducted after the school hours. The students will be recruited based on a competition. The recruitment will be launched on December 12. The children will undergo online tests and an interview, during which they will be offered to settle logic, math and programming tasks. The children will be additionally informed of how to apply for participation in the screen tests.
Yandex has been training specialists for the IT industry for many years. In 2007 the company set up the Yandex School of Data Analysis that provides computer-based education, computer vision, text mining, etc. Yandex also supports the mathematics and engineering school within the framework of higher, secondary and additional education.
