ArmInfo. In Armenia, October 31st is traditionally marked as the Savings Day. Within this, the Deposit Guarantee Fund of Armenia (AGDF) together with Armenian Banks Association, Araratbank JSC and Armbusinessbank JSC announced the winners of the "Infographics" Competition, participated by 14 students of Armenian alma maters.
"Initiating such events, we wish to upgrade the level of acknowledgement on savings and our Fund activities," AGDF Director Hermine Harutyunyan said, adding that there were not only students of financial departments, who participated in the event, but also those of other backgrounds, which are pretty far from financial aspects.
According to Hermine Harutyunyan, 4 best results have been selected from 14, which have been awarded by monetary prizes of the Fund, Armenian Banks Association, Araratbank and Armbusinessbank - particularly, such as deposit accounts, savings cards, and securities.
According to the expert evaluation and the online voting, the winners of the Competition became Mary Tsaroukyan (Yerevan State University of Economics), Ani Ginovyan, Lousine Baghdasaryan and Anna Gasparyan ( Agrarian University, Economy Department)
The Armenian Deposit Guarantee Fund was established in 2005 upon the initiative of the Central Bank of Armenia, and its activities are aimed at the improvement of the banking system reliability, and assume the protection of depositors' interests in any case of bank failure and paying indigence- particularly, by reimbursement of personal deposits in all the active banks of Armenia.
