ArmInfo. Armenian Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan received the Ambassadors of the European Union's member countries accredited to Armenia led by Head of EU Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Piotr Switalski, the press-service of the Armenian government informs.
Karapetyan stressed the importance of honest and open dialog with the European Union and development of cooperation in all the areas. The Prime Minister added that he considers necessary to exchange experience and introduce European culture in Armenia in such processes as business management, fight against corruption, protection of human rights and court legal reforms.
Touching upon the action program of the government Karapetyan noted that the main task of the executive body is to create maximally fair, free and equal environment for business as well as stimulate investment programs.
The Prime Minister informed that in foreseeable future funds will be created which aimed at co-financing active, initiative businesses operating in open environment for their further development. Moreover, according to him steps will be taken aimed at motivating taxpayers to being more
Emphasizing the importance of reforms in management culture Karapetyan stated that he does not see other way for country's development rather than fighting corruption and shadow economy. At the same time he added that the government will present legislative initiatives in the issue of fighting corruption and the structure of the council of fight against corruption will be changed and representatives of wide public will be involved in its work.
"Center of strategic initiatives and reforms will be created in the nearest future, which will involve not only representatives from the government but also our partners from various countries of the world whose experience and knowledge are important for us. They will also point at the reforms our country needs", the Prime Minister stated.
Switalski in turn stressed that he is impressed with the Prime Minister and the government's ambitions and with the reform agenda. At the same time he noted that this is how he see the way for building Armenia's bright future.
Switalski noted that the European Union being Armenia's friend is ready to assist development of Armenian economy and business climate aimed for improving tax and customs administration.
Touching upon the issue of fighting corruption the European diplomat stated that he is impressed with the rich agenda of the government and expressed readiness to closely cooperate in this issue as well. He also emphasized the importance of organizing electoral process, independence of judicial system, cooperation in the field of human rights and conducting reforms.
