ArmInfo. On November 11, the 11th International conference organized by EDB took place in Moscow. The participants of the events discussed timely issues related to Eurasian economic integration and structural reforms of the region's economy. Answering to journalists' questions Chairman of the Management Board of the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) Dmitry Pankin positively assessed economic situation in Armenia and the growth of indicators.
According to him the bank's experts forecast 2% GDP growth in Armenia, which is not bad although slightly less than previously forecasted 2.6%. In current complex conditions this is quite encouraging and reaching such results can not be underestimated, the specialists of the bank consider.
Drop of fuel prices as well as raw materials have impact on the country's economy. The situation in Russia, Belarus, and Kazakhstan is much worse, the growth of economy slackened and even negative indicators may be registered, that is why forecasted 2% growth for Armenia is positive. According to the country's budget the GDP growth will be 2.2%. According to the latest forecast by WB and IMF the growth will total 1.9%. EBRD and Fitch experts forecast around 2% growth and Armenia's Central Bank forecasted 1.5- 2.6% growth.
