ArmInfo. Armenia's Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan received delegation of the Iran's Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs headed by Head of Iran's Customs Administration Masoud Karbasian, the press-service of the government informs.
Karen Karapetyan noted that Iran is not only a friendly country for Armenia but also an important partner. In this context the Prime Minister mentioned high level of bilateral cooperation between the countries. According to Karapetyan economic relations between the two countries have huge development potential and harmonization of work of Armenia and Iran's customs services will contribute to expansion of trade economic ties.
The Prime Minister of Armenia informed the Iranian guests that during government session on November 18 he has instructed those responsible for the field to establish a working group for ensuring entrance of Armenian agricultural and food products to Iranian market, as well as for studying the prospect of creating FEZ on the border with Iran.
Head of Iran's Customs Administration Masoud Karbasian recalled about the Memorandum on Understanding signed with the State Revenue Committee of Armenia, which envisages exchange of information in online regime between customs houses of Meghri (Armenia) and Norduz (Iran). The agreement according to the Iranian guest will boost cooperation between the two countries. According to him Armenia's membership in EEU will create serious opportunities for Iranian export in Eurasian countries.
The interlocutors discussed other issues of mutual interest. Particularly, prospects of cooperation in the fields of transport and transportation, as well as development of infrastructures were discussed.
