Artsvik Minasyan: Corporate Social Responsibility  system extremely important  for business development

ArmInfo. The development of Corporate Social  Liability is very important for the business in Armenia, Artsvik Minasyan, the Armenian Nature Protection Minister, stated in his greeting speech addressed to participants of  the Corporate Social Liability Project, implemented by the American Chamber of Commerce and CSR  Armenia.

The objective of the project is to establish a group of companies, which will implement joint projects in the aspect of  improvement of Corporate social responsibility for every company. Minister accentuated   his attention at the issues of environmental and nature protection policy implementation. " If we could implement this program campaign, it will expand. From the  business point of view environmental projects could also be developed," Artsvik Minasyan said. According to Minister, the basis for  sustainable development is the environmental security. And in this process the corporate responsibility  system obtains an important meaning.

To note, the CSR Armenia NGO was founded recently and has an objective to institutionalize the works on expansion of corporate social responsibility projects in Armenia. NGO initiators are confident, that strategic projects on large companies and banks development  should comprise CSR projects, they should be subject of internal audit and should be aimed to more efficient Human Resources Management, should positively impact companies' clients and counterparties, to have separated budget and measurable results.

The initiators think that the CSR development in the country depends also on Government position, which should consider this sector in its regulatory documents, such as preferences due to bidding  procedures.

To regret, the conference was attended mostly by representatives of international and American companies and entities. The representatives of large Armenian companies were very few.
