Sergey Avetisyan, the Head of the General Department of Civil Aviation under the Government of Armenia, and the delegation he leads, will participate in the 46th session of Temporary Council of "Eurocontrol" in Brussels no December 1-2. According to the press office of GDCA, within the framework of 46th session a discussion on number of important practice, financial and managerial issues.
Armenia became a member of this organization in 2006
To mention, the main objective of the European organization on air navigation security is the development of united European system of air traffic in the framework of Clean Sky Joint. The organization comprises 41 members, with the head office in Brussels. What is to the opportunity of Armenia's joining the Clean Sky Joint, the terms of that joining were postponed several times. During the meeting of Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian with Federica Mogherini, the Armenian Foreign Minister stated that Armenia is ready to sign the appropriate Agreement with EU.
The document, beside setting flights security rules and certification procedures, cancels the limitations in respect to flights of foreign carriers in Armenia. This will open an opportunity to attract European companies to Gyumri, particularly budget based air companies. Second, this liberalization will allow to secure fair and honest competition at international level.
This means an integration into European air market, Armenian companies exit to international markets and establishment of transit zone in Armenia in respect to air transport.
