ArmInfo. The Armenian government and French Development Agency (FDA) have signed 40 mln EUR budget support loan agreement, the press-service of the Armenia's Finance Ministry informs.
Armenia's Finance Minister Vardan Aramyan signed the agreement from the Armenian side, Deputy Director of FDA Jean-Claude Pires from the French side and French Ambassador to Armenia Jean- Francois Charpentier co-signed the agreement.
The loan agreement is aimed at implementation of governmental reforms in the country in tax budgetary, social sectors, ensuring environmental stability and strengthening competitiveness.
To recall, during the meeting with Armenia's Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan on October 18 French Ambassador to Armenia Jean-Francois Charpentier stated about readiness for close cooperation with the Armenian government in order to implement new joint programs, develop bilateral relations and boost economic exchanges between the two countries. He said the French Development Agency is set to make new investments in Armenia's infrastructures to a total amount of about USD 40 million. The Ambassador stressed that a number of French companies are interested in deploying activities in Armenia. Efforts are being made in this direction, he said.
