ArmInfo. South Caucasus Ralway (SCRW) will keep on implementing social projects in Armenia, Sergey Valko, the Director General of SCRW JSC stated at the Workshop on Russia activities in international cooperation support, held in Yerevan on December 12.
He reminded that starting from 2011, the SCRW allocated about AMD 275,5 mln to the social support sector. "Our company deals not only with economic projects, but also with humanitarian, particularly, in respect to the social support and protection of people, science and culture promotion. For instance, during April events, the management of the Company, trade unions and private persons transferred MD 18 mln aid to help the persons affected. we support the project on the Fioletovo school building rehabilitation. It is already 4th year that we implement a project on rehabilitation of veterans shelters, and we are intended to allocate an amount of about AMD 5 mln for that. Last year we arranged a Christmas show for boarding schools kids, and this initiative wil be an ongoing one," Valko mentioned.
The SCRW head accentuated also that the Hermes club, comprising leaders of 35 Russian companies, also participates to the implementation of social projects in Armenia, including the aid to refugees from Syria, as well as in projects on kinder gardens and schools rehabilitation, and others - in total more than in 10 projects. Valko stated, that Russian business will continue its participation to many of the social projects in Armenia.
The South Caucasus Railway JSC is the 100% subsidiary of the Russian Railways JSC, and performs the trust management of Armenian rail roads. The rail road infrastructure of Armenia has been passed under the SCRW confessional management according to appropriate Agreement signed on February 13, 2008. The term of Agreement is 30 year, with possible extension for additional 10 years.
