Sole operator of drink water supply French Veolia company has set a tariff of 180 drams for 1 cu. m. for the Armenian consumer starting from Jan 1, 2017, Chairman of State Committee of Water System of Ministry of Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources of Armenia Arsen Harutyunyan stated on December 15 at a press conference.
To note, a tender for choosing a sole operator of water supply was announced in Armenia on Jan 15 2016. "Yerevan Djur" (founded by Veolia)"Armwatercanal", "Shirak Water Canal", "Lori Water Canal" and "Nor Akunq" participated in the tender and Veolia became the winner. On November 21 an Agreement on Water Supply Network was signed in Armenia, by Arsen Harutyunyan, the Chairman of the State Committee on Water System, the deputy director of "Veolia" company for Central and Eastern Europe Malika Ghenduri, and the Chief Executive of Veolia Djur Company Christian Lerfe. According to the agreement Veolia Company will become for the next 15 years the sole operator of Armenian water supply and sewerage network.
