ArmInfo. In Jan-Nov 2016, the industrial produce in Armenia grew 6.8% versus Jan-Nov 2015 (against 4.6% growth a year before) to 1.285 trln drams ($2.7bln). Growth accelerated due to improving dynamics of manufacturing industry amid mining sector remaining the key driver in the industry dynamics. In Nov 2016 alone, the industrial output increased 5.7% (versus 1% decline in Nov 2015) to 133.4bln drams (278.8 mln USD).
In Jan-Nov 2016 versus the same period of 2015, mining industry and open pit mining increased 9.8% (versus 46.9% growth a year before) to 233bln drams. In Nov alone, the mining industry output totaled 23 bln drams with a 1.1% monthly growth. In Jan-Nov 2016 manufacturing industry increased 7.1% y-o-y (vs 5.3% decline a year before) to 795.7bln drams, of which 84.2 bln drams - in November with 5.5% monthly growth.
In Jan-Nov 2016, chemical industry output fell by 8%, textile production by 4.2% and printed products by 0.9%. At the same time jewelry output rose 2- fold, production of electric appliances - by 44.6%, production of computers, electric and optic equipment by 30.9%, tobacco- 23.4% and clothes-19.3%. In the manufacturing industry segment, food output made up 260.3 AMD, base metals - 137.5 bln AMD, cigarettes - 119.3bln AMD, and beverages - 99.9 bln AMD.
According to statistics, the supply of electric power, gas, steam and conditioned air increased by 3.1% in Jan- Nov 2016 versus Jan-Nov 2015 (vs 4.5% rise a year before) to 212.3bln drams. In Nov alone, this indicator grew by 6.9% to 21.1bln drams. Output and supply of electric power grew by 4% y-o-y (amid 5.2 growth in Nov), while supply of gas declined by 0.8% amid 41.1% growth in Nov.
In Jan-Nov 2016, the revenues from water supply, waste disposal and recycling grew 6.4% (vs 10.4% growth a year before) to 20.2 bln AMD (down 5.6% in Nov alone to 1.8 bln AMD). Growth in this segment was ensured mainly due to water supply (18.1% y-o-y growth amid monthly decline by 4.1%).
The average AMD/USD exchange rate was 478.52 AMD/$1 in Nov 2016 and 480.27 AMD/$1 in Jan-Nov 2016 versus 480.15 AMD/$1 in Nov 2015 and 474.46 AMD/$1 in Jan- Nov 2015.
