ArmInfo. During a consultation on January 20, Armenian Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan instructed the participants to present a tough program on subsurface water management in the Ararat Valley.
The press office of the Armenian Government recalls that on December 15 the Prime Minister instructed the Ministry of Nature Protection to present the information about economic entities conducting activities in water resources management without a relevant permit.
At today's consultation, Armenian Minister of Nature Protection Artsvik Minasyan said that the monitoring revealed 574 economic entities illegally functions in Armenia. The Prime Minister was also informed of actual use of the subsurface water resources in Ararat Valley, activities of fish farms and the current environmental situation.
Karen Karapetyan pointed out the importance of improving the environmental situation and initiating steps aimed at effective use of country's water resources. In this light, he instructed setting up a working group involving representatives of the structures concerned. He also assigned the participants to present a tough specific action plan in the relevant field. Karapetyan noted that the offenders should be held accountable, and instructed removing artificial obstacles to business.
