ArmInfo. In overall VimpelCom considers Armenia as a path breaker in many fields, Mikhail Gerchuk, Chief Executive Officer Eurasia, VimpelCom Group stated during a briefing on the sidelines of regional semi- final of Eurasia Mobile Challenge international contest kicked off in Yerevan on January 25.
Answering to ArmInfo's question he noted that the company's choice of the country is determined by several factors. First of all Gerchuk pointed at the unique position VimpelCom occupies in Armenia. "We have developed powerful mobile and landline offers here. In many other countries we have only mobile coverage with weak landline one. In Armenia both business directions are quite developed", he explained.
At the same time Gerchuk mentioned the size of Armenia's territory, which is quite appropriate according to him. "On the one hand the country has an area of middle size, which allows to implement innovative initiatives quite fast. On the other hand the size of the country's territory is quite enough to assess the results in order to use the initiatives in other larger countries, where we are represented", he stressed.
