ArmInfo. Armenia intends to create a business environment, in which corruption risks will be minimized, Armenian Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan stated in the interview to Mir 24 TV channel.
According to him, the government has a clear program on fighting corruption. "We have provided a report on the new government's work for the first 100 days, according to which 9% of all the regulations adopted during this period were aimed at anticorruption programs, 10% aimed at changing business climate. The strategy, philosophy of our anticorruption fight is to change the environment excluding corruption risks", Karapetyan said.
At the same time he does not consider mandatory to establish a separate anticorruption organization, as according to him the practice shows that corruption will not disappear as a result of that. "We are trying to create such an environment, in which corruption risks will be simply minimized. This includes various laws, revealing income sources of high ranking officials and many other steps", the Prime Minister clarified.
Karapetyan also pointed at the fields that are driving forces in economic reformation in the country. Mining and light industry, agriculture, IT technologies and tourism are among them. "But this does not mean we do not have other fields to invest into, we have just accentuated these five engines", he said.
