ArmInfo. Work is being held with the Armenian Agriculture Ministry to organize supply of Belarusian agricultural equipment to Armenia, Belarusian Ambassador to Armenia Igor Nazaruk stated on the sidelines of Armenian-Belarusian business meeting on January 25 in Yerevan.
According to him on the first stage tractors, towing and detachable equipment will be supplied. "We want to give an Armenian farmer an opportunity to use affordable, reliable and low-maintenance equipment in order to increase efficiency", Nazaruk stated. The Belarusian side is ready to ensure financial loan assistance, as well as a set of services on guarantee and past-guarantee maintenance for the implementation of the supply program
To recall, on October 24 2016 Armenian Agriculture Minister Ignati Arakelyan during a meeting with Belarusian Ambassador noted that several agriculture initiatives have been implemented in collaboration with Belarus. He also pointed out the need to take efficient steps towards using the current potential in the agrarian sector. "If the Belarusian investors suggest some investment projects, we will be glad to discuss them," he said. Arakelyan stressed that one of the priority tasks in agriculture is to modernize the sector with up-to- date agricultural equipment. He said possible creation of a technical center could be one more direction in the cooperation. The sides emphasized the high demand for Belarusian agricultural machinery and stressed the expediency of continuing the efforts towards creation of a plant for assembling field engines in Armenia. Ambassador Nazaruk recalled that Belarus manufactures combine harvesters, and suggested considering the possibility to import them to Armenia.
Belarus supplies quite a wide range of goods to Armenia, such as heavy-duty equipment, "Belaz", agricultural machines, tires, tractors, light industry products, drugs, wooden crafts, furniture, food products.
