The prospective of bilateral cooperation improvement and arrangement of multimodal transportations to Iran from European countries and back were discussed on the margins of the meeting held on January 24 by business representatives of Iran, Armenia and South Caucasus Railway JSC. The meeting was arranged by joint initiative of Armenian Ministry of Transport, Communications and Iranian Embassy to Armenia and SCRW JSC.
The activities of SCRW, main achievements of the Company, range of services offered was presented to attendants, particularly, in respect to cargo transportations to Iran and backwards.
Opening the meeting, Ilya Keperis, the Deputy Director of SCRW on Finance and Economy, stated that starting from 2008 the company has invested in Armenia about USD 250 mln USD, and appears also as an active participant of logistics market: a fast container train works on Georgian line, appropriate tariffs are concorded with Georgia, services comprising other transport (vehicles, aircraft, vessels) are also supplied. In late 2016 the first multimodal transportation from Europe to Iran has been implemented. SCRW options were presented to attendants by Dmitri Gvozdev, who mentioned that the company supplies full range of transportation services, particularly, in respect to the implementation of multimodal cargo transportations, cargo transportations throughout CIS countries. Currently a single package product in respect to implementation of transit fees for Iranian companies is under development.
"The routs we offer give opportunities to save USD 2000 percontainer, and to reduce the shipment time down for 10-19 days. A simplified documents procedure is also applied here. The option and the tools of payments for multimodal transportations were presented by Mellat bank representative. Attendants of the meeting exchanged opinions due to the issues of mutual interest.
