Kakha Kaladze, the Georgian Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Energy informed, that the Contract with Cazprom Export Russian Company, comprising new terms of Russian gas transit to Armenia in respect to the monetary payments of transit costs, is already completed. According to Kaladze, the approprriate Agreement with Gazprom is already signed, Business Georgia informs.
What is to the publication of the Contract details, which is insisted by opposition, according to the Minister, such a decision could not be taken just and only by Georgian Party. "This could take place only based on mutual agreement of parties, and we do work on that," Kaladze said. he stated also that other letters are received, for instance, letters with claims to publish Georgian agreements with Azerbaijani Company of SOCAR, International Consortium of Shakh-Deniz, which are main gas suppliers for Georgia. I think this is wrong, because such contracts in normal countries are confident," Georgian Minister of Energy stated.
Minister does not see any necessity to go to the Parliament with clarifications regarding the Contract with Gazprom, stating that all the questions already got their answers. I am not intended to participate to political speculations," Kaladze stated.
On January 11 Georgian Energy Minister Kakha Kaladze stated that the Government of the country agreed with Gazprom proposal to monetize Russian gas transit to Armenia, while in March 2016 Georgian side refused signing documents on similar monetary compensation. On January 13 Gazprom Export stated that Russian side guarantees the payment of Russian gas transportation to Armenia at the volumes of 2-2.2. bln cubic meters for the years of 2017-2018, and gas supplies to Georgia at the price of USD185 per 1000 cubic meters.
According Mishveladze, the President called Parliament to implement its Constitutional right and to improve the control on the Government, as well as to submit a plan on how to reduce the risks and threats expected due to the Agreement with Russian company. The Agreement with Gazprom will be one of the main issues of the President's report.
To remind, according Georgian media, about 80 NGO's applied to the Georgian Government to publish the Contract details. " The issue like this Agreement between Russia and Georgia could not be accepted only like commercial, because Russia occupied our country," Nino Eghvenidze, the Director of Economy Policies Studies stated.
