ArmInfo. In 2016 the Armenian users` expenses in the internet grew by 25%, with the number of payments rising by almost 50%. The press office of Yandex.Money has told ArmInfo that the average bill of Armenia's residents dropped from 3342 AMD to 2820 AMD. In Jan- Dec 2016 each user paid for an average of 9 online purchase transactions worth a total of 25,334 AMD, which is by 15% less than in Jan-Dec 2015.
The source says that in 2016 the most popular categories of payments in Armenia were online games, mobile communication, paid options in social networks and orders in online shops. The users also actively transferred money for charitable purposes and the number of such transfers grew 4.6-fold.
As compared to 2015, the number of purchase transactions in online shops rose twofold. The users bought mostly clothes, footwear, books, household goods and accessories for vehicles. The number of clothing orders grew 3.7-fold. The number of cosmetics and perfume purchase transactions considerably rose, while the number of payments for household appliances almost halved. The biggest average bills in online shops were for repair materials, cosmetics, perfume and goods for kids: 67883 AMD, 31749 AMD and 171999 AMD, respectively. The users paid 15732 AMD for household goods and 12390 AMD for accessories for cars. The number of payments for online games grew 1.8-fold, for mobile communication - by over 15%, and the number of payments for paid options in social networks dropped by 5%.
The source says that in 2016 the residents of Armenia spent most funds on air tickets - 118819 AMD, 10% more than in 2015. The average payment for train tickets made up 5828 AMD.
According to Yandex.Money analysts, in 2016 most funds were spent in online shops by the residents of Yerevan, Gyumri, Hrazdan and Abovyan. The biggest bills belonged to the residents of Yerevan and Hrazdan - 8803 AMD and 7507 AMD, respectively.
To note, the study took into account the payments of Armenia's residents via Yandex.Kassa in 2016 and 2015.
