ArmInfo. Armenia will participate in ProedExpo-2017, the 24th international exhibition of food, beverages and raw materials, Armenia's Trade Representative Karen Asoyan said at a press conference in Moscow on Feb 1.
As the press office of the Armenian Ministry of Economic Development and Investments has told ArmInfo, Asoyan pointed out that with the support of the Development Foundation of Armenia and the Armenian Ministry of Agriculture as many as 44 Armenian enterprises will present Armenian food products, wine and brandy in two pavilions from 6-10 February 2017. "According to a preliminary agreement, the representatives of the large Russian trade chains will attend the exhibition to familiarize themselves with the Armenian products" he said.
The source says that the representatives of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture and other structures also took part in the press conference.
ProdExpo-2017 will bring together 2 thsd enterprises from 60 countries, 28 of them will present their products in national pavilions.
The National Statistical Service of Armenia reports that in 2016 the foreign trade turnover between Armenia and Russia amounted to $1.3 bln (up 15.1% versus 2015), with exports growing by 51.5% to $371 mln and imports rising by 5.7% to $996 mln.
