ArmInfo. The Armenian Ministry of Agriculture and the Center for Agriculture and Rural Development (CARD) signed a memorandum of cooperation.
The press office of the Ministry has told ArmInfo that the memorandum envisages creation of a working group, which will elaborate efficient mechanisms to enhance the quality of vaccination measures, services and measures aimed at enhancing the awareness of the farm enterprises engaged in cattle breeding.
"I am sure our cooperation will be very successful. By signing the memorandum, the Government stresses its willingness to cooperate with the private sector," Armenian Agriculture Minister Ignaty Arakelyan said. He also expressed hope that due to cooperation with CARD, in 2018 the vaccination at agrarian centers will be more effective under a new program.
For his part, Head of CARD Gagik Sardaryan pointed out that CARD will keep supporting the Agriculture Ministry in implementing priority projects. He said that all the agrarian centers are equipped with up-to- date facilities and that highly skilled specialists have been involved in the programs on plant growing and cattle breeding.
According to the National Statistical Service of Armenia, in 2016 the gross agriculture output totaled 933.9 bln AMD down 5% versus 2015). The plant growing output dropped by 11.7% to 518.7 bln AMD, and the cattle breeding output grew by 4.7% to 388.8 bln AMD.
