Armenian President: Research and development, science and technology play a significant role in the progress and development of Armenia

ArmInfo. Armenian President  Serzh Sargsyan on March 2 received the delegation headed by the  president of the company "Philip Morris International Management S A"  for East Europe, Middle East and Africa, "Phillip Morris  International Duty Free "Drago Azinovicha.

According to Presidential press service, Serzh Sargsyan welcomed the  arrived in Armenia on a specific proposal the Delegation of the world  famous company. He said that settle in Armenia by "Philip Morris  International Management S A" research and development center will  receive assistance from the sphere of information technologies,  including on the part of Gyumri Technology Center. This initiative  will be positively be received by the public as the Armenian people  have always been careful in regard to innovations, attempting to  import into Armenia innovative ideas with their localization.

The President noted that now, more than ever, research and  development, science and technology play a significant role in the  progress and development of the country, and the development of  information technologies is under the constant attention of the  Government of Armenia. Serzh Sargsyan noted that the Armenian  government has extensive experience of cooperation with transnational  corporations, such as "Microsoft", "National Instruments", which have  their headquarters in Armenia, and carry out a successful operation. 

Drago Azinovich, expressing gratitude for the reception, presented  the achievements of his company in recent years the investments in  its development and innovative programs aimed at the use of such  technologies, which reduce the harm caused by cigarette smoking. "I  am glad that Armenia attaches importance to the development of  technologies and human development. Assisting the identification of  talents and technology development, you create new conditions for the  development of your country and the involvement of Armenia in the  number of advanced countries", said Drago Azinovich.

He added that the Phillip Morris International Management company  will be consistent in the implementation of the concluded today with  the Government of the Republic of Armenia a Memorandum of  Understanding.
