ArmInfo. During the visit of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani to Russia by the end of this month parties will discuss the issue of setting free economic zone between EEU and Iran. This is stated by Iran Daily with a reference to Russian trade representative in Iran Andrey Luganski. Meanwhile, Diplomat stated that Iran intention to export fruits and vegetables to Russia is a reason for concerns, because the tax free import of such precuts might initiate a competition with local products. Besides, Iran is concerned that the import of a number of Russian machinery products could support the competition with more expensive local products.
To mention, from March 12 to 14 in Tehran a regular session of EEU countries and Iran economic entities representatives took place. According to the information of the Ministry of Economy and Investments of Armenia, Hovhannes Azizyan also participated in the session. Parties discussed the the text of Agreement and the roster of products to be included in the list of goods subject for tariff bonuses. Consultations on this issue will be continued.
During the meetings with his Iranian colleagues, Armenian Deputy Minister offered to Iranian side to review the issue on setting of joint Impex company to support the export of the products, including the duty free market. According to the statement, Iranian side encouraged this idea and suggested to develop certain tools for implementation of it.
To remind, at the session of EEU Intergovernmental Board on March in Bishkek, the Prime Minister of Armenia Karen Karapetyan mentioned the importance of implementation of trade negotiations between EEU- third countries. In this context Armenia stated its readiness to promote the negotiations process between EEU-Iran.
