ArmInfo. A single rate for cigarettes at EUR 35 per 1000 items will be set for EEU countries by the year of 2022. The appropriate decision was taken by EEC, the Izvestia daily reads.
According to the letter addressed to the Federation Board of Russian Duma, initiated by Ilya Trounin, the Russian Deputy Minister of Finance, the sole indicative rate for the cigarettes appears an average value, which could be taken as an indicator by any of EEU while implementing the tobacco excise duty. The derivative of actual tariff of that indicative has been also modified in respect to all the countries of EEU. In Russia this value could not exceed 15% to negative and 20% to positive. The negotiations on concordance of tariff rates are in progress now, the Trounin's letter reads. In Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan the excise duty will proceed of fixed rate per 10000 items. Starting from May 1, 2016 the excise rate for cigarettes in Armenia forms AMD 5500 (EUR 11) for 1000 items.
