ArmInfo. Taron Avia will start to implement flights from Rostov to Gyumri. As Rostov Airport press-service informs, Rostov-On-Don new flight has been added to international airport's schedule: from April 26 2017 Taron Avia air company will implement flights to Gyumri, the second Armenian city in size.
By the end of the spring the flight will be available weekly on Thursdays, from May 31 the second part will be added on Saturdays.
According to the schedule, departure from Gyumri is scheduled at 08:45 am, arrival in Rostov-On-Don at 09:15 am, departure from Rostov-On-Don at 10:45 am, arrival to Gyumri at 1:05pm. The flight time is 1 hour 20 minutes. The flights will be implemented via comfortable jet airliners Boeing 737-500. The sale of tickets will be opened on the website of air company.
Gyumri Shirak Airport has not been implemented flights for a long time, however, the situation changed after Karen Karapetyan, the Prime-Minister of Armenia during regular session of Armenian National Assembly on October 20 2016 stated that the talks are being done with air companies to redirect some flights to Shirak airport. After Prime Minister's statement, from December 15 2016 the planes of low coster Pobeda started to fly to Gyumri three times a week, on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Sundays. Shirak Airport is the subsidiary of Armenian International Airports CJSC founded by well-known Argentina businessman of Armenian origin Eduardo Eurnekian. The airport located 5 km far from Gyumri was built in 1961 and is the second airport in the Republic, followng Yerevan Zvartnots Airports.
