ArmInfo. The volume of attracted investments by Armenian Banks grew by 20% per annum to 2.405 trillion AMD ($ 4.9 billion) by March 2017. In their structure, currency deposits traditionally prevail over AMD deposits - 62.9% against 37.1%. According to the Central Bank, provided to ArmInfo by National Statistical Service of the Republic of Armenia, in the structure of deposits the currency component grew by 8.8% year-on-year, amounting to 1.514 trillion AMD, and AMD by 45.4% to 891.5 billion AMD.
In bank deposit, the share of residents amounted 75% or 1.806 trillion AMD (16,5% growth per annum), non-residents - 25% or 599.4 billion AMD (31.7% growth per annum).
In the structure of deposits from residents, the share of demand deposits was 27% or 487.5 billion AMD, while the share of term deposits - 73% or 1.319 trillion. AMD. Demand deposits for the year increased by 8.8%, while time deposits showed a more significant annual growth by 19.7%.
The investment of population in Armenian banks is more than 1 trillion AMD by March 2017, increasing by 13.7% per annum.
According to statistical data, in average, the rate interest on AMD deposits in February formed at the level of 9.29% against 11.44% in 2016(at the rate of AMD by 28.02.2017, 487.70 AMD/USD1).
