ArmInfo. The European Union will continue to assist Armenia. Head of the European Union Delegation to Armenia Piotr Switalski stated on April 10 in Yerevan, announcing the launch of a grant program to strengthen the role of civil society with a total budget of 1.5 million EUR.
The diplomat stressed the importance of maintaining the important role of civil society and the media, along with improving the effectiveness of public administration. "The European Union has concluded negotiations with Armenia on a new framework agreement on deep and expanded partnership. In addition, in June, it is planned to complete the negotiations on the support program (Single Support Framework). The logic of support will change: the European Union will expect more initiative from Armenia. The country's authorities will have to decide in which sectors support is more effective and focus on them," the ambassador said.
He also refused to comment on the topics of the parliamentary elections held in Armenia.
The goal of the grant program is to find new projects that will make Armenia healthier, safer, cleaner and more stable.
