ArmInfo. The state is ready to subsidize commercial loans, which are aimed at expanding the production of light industry and creating new jobs. On April 13, during the meeting with representatives of companies engaged in light industry, Prime Minister of Armenia Karen Karapetyan stated. "With a goal of development of the industry, the state is ready to promote the effective implementation of programs in this sector," the Prime Minister said.
In their turn, manufacturers presented to the Premier concrete investment initiatives, through which several thousand new jobs will be created in Armenia. In this regard, Karapetyan instructed the Ministry of Economic Development and Investments to consider the proposed initiatives in detail and move forward. "Our task is to ensure an equal competitive field", he stressed.
According to the source, during the discussions, participants also touched upon the questions regarding the VAT refund terms, customs clearance conditions for the import of raw materials, training and retraining of specialists in the field.
To recall, according to the data of 2016 in the sector of light industry of Armenia there are 167 enterprises, the production of which amounted to 13.1 billion AMD (with an annual growth by 16.1%), and export of products of this sphere - 7.58 billion AMD (with annual growth by 71.8%). In the sphere of light industry, 3,927 people work.
