ArmInfo. In Janurary-March 2017, scheduled task on cargo transportation by railway was completed by 99.8%, on cargo turnover - 102.3%. The Director General of the "South-Caucasian Raliway" Sergey Valko stated during a meeting on April 14.
According to him, transportation in the export communication by rail increased by 4.5% compared to the planned indicator, and by 4.1% compared to last year's figure. Transportation in the import connection, in comparison with the planned indicator, increased by 6.8%, while in the local communication it decreased by 4.2%.
The growth was traced in the line of such quality performance as, in particular, the average weight of the freight train, which amounted to 1,490 tons against 1,478 planned, the average daily mileage and productivity of the locomotive, increased by 1.3% and 3%, respectively. The segmental speed increased by 3.1% compared to the previous year and reached 35.9 km/h, while the technical speed was 41.1 km/h, an increase of 3.2%.
According to the data provided, in the first quarter of 2017, the plan for depot repairs was completely fulfilled, and the program of the current wagon repair was carried out by 102.3%.
Speaking about the schedule of train traffic, the Director General of the SCR said that in the first three months of the year, 3090 trains had passed through the SCR, of which 3,043 were scheduled.
Particularly the head of the company stopped on the safety issues on the railway, noting that during the reporting period of 2017, 7 points compared to the same indicator of the previous year and amounted to 81 units improved the score of the way. Since the beginning of the year 2390 sleepers have been replaced by the railway against the planned 2360. At the same time, the plans for laying new wooden and reinforced concrete sleepers were completely fulfilled: 800 and 450 sleepers were laid respectively. Also after renovation, 780 old wooden and 210 reinforced concrete sleepers were laid.
Among the priorities of the company in the future, Sergei Valko stressed the preparation of track equipment for work in the summer, ensuring the safety of train traffic.
Among the priority tasks of the railway for the future, the improvement of the work on attracting new volumes of cargo transportation to the railway, balancing the revenue and expenditure items of the budget, and developing programs to increase the efficiency of activities.
