ArmInfo. On April 28, Armenian Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan received a delegation from the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic headed by Deputy Ministers Radek Polisar and Tom Phillip. Karen Karapetyan expressed gratitude for the recognition of the historical fact of the Armenian Genocide in Ottoman Empire by the legislative body of the Czech Republic, the press service of the executive body of Armenia reports.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to Armenia Petr Mikyska stressed the interest of Czech business in the Armenian market, noting certain steps in this direction from Czech entrepreneurs.
Representatives of the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic said they were impressed with the efforts in the field. They noted the prospects for cooperation in the field of clinical medicine, e-health, management of health facilities, etc. An agreement was reached to conduct mutual visits, communication between expert circles, and the organization of exchange of experience.
According to the National Statistical Service of Armenia, the external trade turnover between Armenia and the Czech Republic in 2016 amounted to $ 17.3 million with an annual decline by 20.3%. At the same time, exports amounted to $ 2.3 million, with an annual growth by 35.4%, imports - $ 15 million, with an annual decline by 25%. In recent months, the situation with the turnover has begun to recover. From Armenia to the Czech Republic, mainly molybdenum concentrate, ferromolybdenum, ceramic and wooden products, handmade carpets, rough diamonds, furniture are exported. From the Czech Republic, Armenia imports confectionery, food, medicines and medical equipment, plastic products, paper and knitwear.
