ArmInfo. In the total credit portfolio (excluding prolonged and overdue loans) of the banking system of Armenia, the lion's share falls to the currency component - 62.7% or 1.425 trillion AMD. Annually, foreign currency credits increased by 8.3%, but only for the Q1 decreased by 2.1%. At the same time, AMD crediting accounts for 37.3% or 846.6 billion drams, with an annual growth of 28.6%, with a quarterly growth of 27%.
According to Armenian Central Bank data, presented to ArmInfo by National Statistics Service of Armenia, total extent of bank crediting increased by April 2017 for 13.5% annually , with a quarterly growth of 0.4%, amounting to 2.422 trillion AMD. Without taking into account the prolonged and overdue credits , the credit investments of the Armenian banking system increased by 15% on an annual basis, and for the Q1 decreased by 0.4% to 2.272 trillion AMD.
The share of prolonged and overdue loans on April 1, 2017 totaled respectively 4.35% and 1.39% (versus 5.34% and 2.13% a year earlier, and in the previous quarter 4.14% and 1.32%). Annually , the extent of overdue credits in Armenian banks decreased by 26.1%, forming 33.6 billion AMD on April 1 2017, while the prolonged ones decreased by 12.9% to 114 billion AMD. The quarterly growth of overdue and prolonged credits was 20.1% and 3.1%, respectively.
According to statistics data, the average interest rate on AMD credits by April 2017 formed at the level of 16.80%, versus 15.38% in the previous quarter and 19.11% a year earlier. The calculated exchange rate of the dram to the dollar was as of March 31, 2017. 483.45 AMD/$1.
