Chairman of Agrarian Union reports sharp drop down in agriculture

ArmInfo. Comparing to the last  year, in 2017 we have a cardinal dropdown in agriculture.  This was  stated by Hrach Berberyan, the head of Agrarian Union, at his meeting  with journalists on May 15. 

According to Berberyan, the dropdown I agricultural manufacturing has  a number of reasons, the main of which  was the wrong management of  the sector. "The spring  sowing started in March, and Agricultural  Ministry states that the diesel fuel will be provided to the villages  only in 4-5 days. Does it mean that Agricultural Ministry is not   aware about the terms of spring sawing?" Berberyan  asks. "They also  use to say that villagers should write business plans for themselves.  But those are people many of which  do not possess even high school  education, " he mentioned. 

According to the expert, due to the treason of wrong management of  the sector, the potatoes sowing surfaces sharply decreased, with the  price for potatoes in the stores at AMD 300. "The full picture will  be observed  in the autumn," he mentioned. 

"Situation is hard and it occurred for the mistakes of processing  companies, to be more exact, because the debts were not paid to  villagers yet in respect to 2015,' Berberyan noted.  In common,  according to the forecast of Armenian Agrarian Union Head, the prices  for fruits and vegetables, except potatoes, will remain the same.
