ArmInfo. The Congolese market may be attractive for Armenian commodity producers. Valery Safaryan, Chairman of the Armenian-Belgian Chamber of Commerce, expressed such a point of view on May 17 during the Armenian-Belgian business forum in which businessmen from the Congo participated. According to him, Congo is the largest country in Africa and is the fourth by population (about 85 million people). "Republic is in need of production of high added value, including, in pharmaceutical products. That is why the Armenian medicines may be in demand in Congolese market. The republic is also one of the largest diamond exporters, and there can be established prospective ties with Armenian cutters," Safaryan said, adding that Armenian goods can be successfully sold on the Congolese market.
He emphasized that the task of the structure headed by him is to intensify Armenian-Belgian cooperation in the sector of entrepreneurship and support in realization of investment intentions of entrepreneurs.
To note, the Armenian-Belgian Chamber of Commerce functions fro 12 years. The meetings are held at least once a year. The meeting in Yerevan differed with the presence of the representatives of Congo.
