ArmInfo. High-tech products export share of Armenia totaled 12% from EEU countries total extent, exceeding average indicator within EEU for 8.8%, Veronika Nikishina, Minister (Member of the Board) for Trade of the Eurasian Economic Commission (ECE) said during the business forum EEU: Armenia-Cooperation on May 27.
"We fight for the quality of exports, moving from raw materials to non-raw materials. And in the framework of non-primary export, we put special emphasis on the implementation of technological products, which is the "elite" in this segment, "she said, noting that Armenia, at the background of the general dynamics of export slowdown, showed fantastic results. "You demonstrate here not only the quantity, but also the quality of the export potential," stressed Nikishina.
In this regard, Nikishina noted the growth of exports of Armenian products to the Russian market. In her opinion, the success of implementing the export policy of Armenia is based not only by the quality of the products produced, but also by certain nostalgia of close economic ties that existed between the countries earlier. "I will not speak as an official, but I will express my civil assessment. Now there is a return to the spirit of partnership after years of loss of close cooperative ties between Russia and Armenia. And we missed the Armenian products, spirit, mood and character, " Board member added.
However, according to ECE Minister, the issue of diversification of export potential is unsolved yet. In this situation, Nikishina sees the solution in effective development of cooperation. "There is no need to compete. We should complete each other, so that using new practices, technologies and services to bring to a qualitatively new level the development of cooperative products". According to ECE Minister, today's forum will help Armenian exporters and EEU to promote partnership relations, to understand competitive benefits of the countries with which the negotiations on free trade are being done or free relations are being set.
