ArmInfo. In Armenia, service sector in January-April 2017 increased volume by 10.1% per annum to 409.03 billion AMD ($842.3), against 9.3% of 2016. As the data of the National Statistical Service of Armenia show, only in April 2017, the volume of provided services totaled 107.1 billion AMD (over $ 220.7 million), with an annual growth of 10.4%, but with monthly decline by 0.7%. According to statistical data, in the reporting period in 2017, services in the areas of accommodation for tourists and catering services went up by 19.1% growth from 4.1% decline in the past year, education - from 1.4% decline to 3,6% growth, healthcare - from 1.2% decline to 10.8% growth, administrative and support activities - from 6.8% decline to 2.7% growth, professional, scientific and technical activities - from 19.6% decline to 1.9% growth. The volume of services in the real estate market accelerated growth from 6.8% to 8.8%, information and communication - from 2.5% to 5.5%, financial sector (including insurance) - from 1.9% to 18, 7%. At the same time, the slowdown in growth was recorded in terms of the volume of cultural, entertainment and recreation services - from 43.9% to 8.4%, and transportation - from 28.6% to 10.2%.
According to statistical data, the financial sector traditionally leads by the volume of provided services - 92.7 billion AMD (22.7% of the total volume). The second place in the volume of services is occupied by the sphere of culture, entertainment and recreation - 78.8 billion AMD (19.3% of the total volume). In the third place - the sphere of information and communication - 71.4 billion AMD (17.4%), in the fourth - the sphere of transport - 54 billion AMD (13.2%). The five leaders are the food and accommodation sectors of tourists, which provided services for 22.8 billion AMD (5.6%).
The average calculated exchange rate for AMD was 485.14 AMD/USD1 in April, 2017, and 485.62 AMD/USD1 in January-April, compared to 481.27 AMD/USD1 in April 2016 and 486.82 AMD/USD1 in January -April 2016 In April 2015, the rate was 474.07 AMD/SUD1, and in January-April 2015 - 476.46 AMD/USD1.
