Armenia is on 4th position in CIS by travels to Russia

ArmInfo. In the 1st quarter 2017, the number of tourist trips to Russia form 131 thousand. TurStat reports.

According the source, the number of tourists visited Russia from Armenia exceeded by 2% from the indicator of last year.  Armenia is on the 4th position in CIS by travels to Russia.

TOP-10 countries visiting Russia in 2017 by the number of tourists in the 1st quarter 2017 are- Ukraine (1,578 thousand trips), Kazakhstan (657 thousand), Finland (234 thousand), Poland (189 thousand), China (183 thousand), Azerbaijan (181 thousand), Moldova (107 thousand), Uzbekistan (99 thousand) and Abkhazia (92 thousand).

China (183 thousand trips, + 32% compared to the first quarter of 2016), South Korea (23 thousand, + 28%) and Japan (13 thousand, + 8%) became the leaders of growth of incoming tourism to Russia in 2017 Year on the basis of the first three months. Vietnam and Thailand also showed a high increase in the number of tourist trips to Russia in the first quarter of 2017.

To recall, according to the State Committee for Tourism, the number of international tourist arrivals in Armenia increased by 18.2% in the first quarter of 2017 to 599.3 thousand, which was mainly due to the growth of visits by Iranian and Russian tourists - by 17.7% and 7, 5% respectively.
