ArmInfo. A memorandum on understanding is signed between Armenia and Iran, aimed at activation of bilateral relations. Yesterday, the document was signed in Tehran by the deputy minister of economic development and investment of Armenia Emil Tarasyan and the vice president of Iranian institute of standards and industrial researches M. Mahadam.
According to the Ministry of Economy of Armenia, The memorandum envisages exchange of information on legal field, concerning food products and non-alcoholic drinks, product control courses with label "halal", audit carrying, information exchange on the markets of the two states, implementation of joint programs. Iran will provide right to Armenia to organize product production of food with "Halal" label.
During the meeting in the Iranian institute, Emil Tarasyan noted that the memorandum signed will enlarge bilateral cooperation in the given sector. He noted that both tourists and entrepreneurs will be able to use the halal standard production. Iranian side offered to view the question on usage of halal standard concerning Non-food products as well.
Earlier it was reported that according the treaties with embassy of Iran in Armenia, a center for assessment of the production response to the standard will be opened, which will mark the food which is allowed by the Muslim norms.
According to Thompson Reuters, the share of halal food on the global market in 2015-2016 is 17%. By 2020, the world market of halal food can grow to $ 1.6 trillion and exceed 20% of the total food market.
