ArmInfo. Elaburg Automobile Plant (ELAZ, Tatarstan, Russia) is exploring possibilities for cooperation with Armenia. The Minister of Economic Development and Investments of the Republic of Armenia Suren Karayan and the General Director of ELAZ Kamil Galimov and the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Naberezhnikh Chelnov Yuri Petrushin discussed perspectives of this cooperation the day before in Yerevan.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Economic Development, in the course of the meeting Suren Karayan presented the guests the advantages of organizing production in Armenia, preferential treatment with a number of countries, and the possibility of exporting ready products to the states of the region. Russian entrepreneurs, in particular, were interested in the possibility of organizing production in the Syunik region of Armenia in the free economic zone bordering Iran.
The Armenian minister presented them benefits and benefits for companies operating in the area. He also stressed the importance of cooperation within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union. The minister also discussed with the guests possible cooperation options in the context of providing Armenia with agricultural machinery.
To note, the Elaburg Automobile Plant was founded in 1985. Today OJSC "PO ELAZ" specializes in the production of special equipment and equipment for the oil and gas industry. In this direction the enterprise cooperates with the largest oil companies - Lukoil, Rosneft, YUKOS, Surgutneftegaz, TNK-BP, and Tatneft. Another line of activity of "Elaz" is the production of wheel tractors of the brand "Belarus" in cooperation with the Minsk Tractor Plant and production of special machinery based on them. In addition to the above equipment, the plant produces components and spare parts for KAMAZ, GAZ, VAZ, ZIL, URALAZ vehicles, as well as non-standard equipment.
