ArmInfo. Due to unfavorable weather conditions, the process of export of agricultural products from Armenia started with some delay. This was stated by the head of the department Ignaty Araqelyan on June 23 at the meeting in the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Armenia.
Nevertheless, according to Ignaty Araqelyan, it is not an obstacle for the organization of stable and timely deliveries of agricultural products abroad.
During the meeting, according to the press service of the ministry, the minister got acquainted with the problems faced by exporting enterprises. In particular, concern was expressed about the problem at the Upper Lars checkpoint.
Deputy Agriculture Minister Robert Makaryan noted that about 36 thousand tons of fruit and vegetable crops have already been exported. The main export direction, as in previous years, was the Russian Federation. At the same time, as stressed by Makaryan, harvesting of apricots started in Armenia, 1 thousand tons of which were delivered to the Russian market. Significant growth in exports was recorded in the part of strawberries, already exported 2500 tons of this type of products, which is twice the volume of the previous year.
