Armenian President gives full carte blanche to the government

ArmInfo. "Transparency will become an important criterion for the government's activities," Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan said at the opening of the next cabinet meeting on June 29. "I congratulate you on the appointment, or rather the reassignment of many of you," the head of state said, addressing the Cabinet of Ministers and Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan. He stressed that, thus, the government is given the opportunity to finish and  to complete what has been started.

According to the president, a new stage of the executive branch  activities  begins. He stressed that task number 1 today is to carry out reforms as effectively and without shocks. Serzh Sargsyan recalled that obtaining the majority of votes in the parliamentary elections allowed the RPA to form a unified government in the country. However, the government decided to form an executive body together with the Dashnaktsutyun party. "The new government, headed by Karen Karapetyan, enjoys full confidence of the president and the entire political team of the country," Serzh Sargsyan stressed. At the same time, according to the president, the ruling party is ready to work with all the productive forces within the executive and legislative branches. "The only condition is maintaining the principles of mutual respect and political correctness," Sargsyan said.

Serzh Sargsyan recalled that on May 18 he presented his vision of the country's development in the short and medium term, outlined the main development goals both politically and economically. "We must be demanding of ourselves and not stop at what we have achieved, otherwise we will not be able to move forward," the president said.

In turn, Karen Karapetyan assured the president that the government program for 2017-2022 will be implemented and the Cabinet of Ministers is well aware of the expectations of the public.
