ArmInfo. In Armenia, service sector increased volumes in Jan-May 2017. At 11% per annum - up to 524.7 billion AMD ($ 1.1 billion), versus 8.6% growth a year ago. As the data of National Statistical Service of Armenia show, only for May 2017, volume of services provided amounted to 115.7 billion AMD (over $ 239.2 million), with annual growth of 14.3%, and monthly growth of 9.5%.
According to statistical data, in the reporting period in 2017, services in areas of accommodation of tourists and catering services went up by 19.8% growth from the 5.5% decline in the past year, administrative and auxiliary activities - from a 5.2% decline By 5.9% growth, professional, scientific and technical activity - from 14.5% decline to 2.8% growth. The volume of services provided by the sphere of education accelerated growth from 0.8% to 2.9%, healthcare - from 0.4% to 14.4%, real estate operations - from 5% to 10.2%, information and communication - from 0 , 9% to 5.2%, the financial sector (including insurance) - from 1.6% to 19.2%. At the same time, services in the spheres of culture, entertainment and recreation, and transport, on the contrary, slowed the growth rates from 25.3-41.7% to 8.9-13%.
According to statistical data, the financial sector traditionally leads by the volume of provided services - 117.4 billion AMD2.4% of the total volume). The second place in the volume of services is occupied by the sphere of culture, entertainment and recreation - 99.7 billion AMD(19% of the total volume). In third place - the sphere of information and communication - 89.5 billion AMD(17.1%), in the fourth - transport sector - 70.5 billion AMD (13.4%). The five leaders are the sphere of catering and accommodation of tourists, which provided services for 31 billion AMD (5.9%).
