ArmInfo. The minimum penalty for illegal emission of garbage is proposed to be set at no less than 16 thousand drams. This was stated by the Minister of Territorial Administration and Development of Armenia David Lokyan in the conversation with journalists after the meeting of the Government on July 20. According to Lokyan, the department headed by him has developed a draft law, the so-called code of "Garbage removal and sanitary cleaning of the territory of the municipality," which establishes fairly strict administrative measures of responsibility for the discharge of garbage.
The minimum penalty for illegal emission of garbage is proposed to be set at 16 thousand AMD. This penalty will be applied, as the minister explained, for the cigarette stub out of the wrong place. For large companies, the fine will reach 200-300 thousand.
At the same time, in the matter of educating the cleanliness of the population, the government is not limited to punitive measures alone. Within the framework of the "Clean Armenia" program, the Ministry issued about 10 promotional videos, in the regions there will be selling caps warning about the dangers of dishonesty and agitating for cleanliness and order. In addition, David Lokyan acknowledges that there is an acute shortage of garbage cans, and in connection with this, in 2018 the Ministry plans to purchase about 10,000 garbage cans. They will be installed in squares, in theaters and museums, in large churches. Nevertheless, as he stressed, local communities should make their own contribution - to acquire not only urns, but also garbage trucks.
