ArmInfo. August 16 was the day of Armenia at the international exhibition "Astana EXPO-2017". The events dedicated to the Day of Armenia aroused great interest among the visitors of the exhibition, the press service of the Ministry of Economic Development and Investments reports.
Heads of the State Committee for Tourism of the Ministry of Economic Development and Investments of Armenia Zarmine Zeituntsyan, head of the Tourism Development Fund of Armenia Ara Khzmalyan and deputy attorney of the Armenian pavilion Erik Grigoryan took part in the events from the Armenian side. Figures of Kazakh culture, representatives of tourism and high-ranking officials attended the event.
As the Vice-Minister for Investments and Development of Kazakhstan, Yerlan Khairov, stated in his welcoming speech, the existence of a visa-free regime between our countries, as well as flights between Kazakhstan's cities and the Armenian capital, allow citizens to get acquainted with the culture of the two countries.
According to him, the Kazakh people admire the artistic and literary heritage of Armenia. He also did not hide his love for Armenian cuisine. "Armenian humor is also understandable and close to us. An Armenian musical instrument deserves a special mention - the duduk, which fascinates," Yerlan Khairov said.
As Khairov pointed out, the theme of the future energy for today is relevant for each country. In this regard, as he pointed out, the international exhibition Astana EXPO-2017 is a unique opportunity for presenting innovative solutions in the energy sector. "For Kazakhstan, as well as for Armenia, alternative energy is an important direction for the development of the country," he stressed, noting that Armenia is actively involved in the process of studying and using alternative energy.
Within the framework of the National Day, the tourism potential of Armenia was also presented. According to Zarmine Zeituntsyan, Armenia has great potential for the development of the tourism industry - it is hospitable, comfortable for the tourist and safe. In addition, the republic is known for its cultural and historical heritage.
On its national day Armenia presented a film about the republic and the Armenian tourist product. Tour programs, event tourism and weekends in Yerevan, schedule of events for 2017 were also presented. Participants were given information materials, as well as gifts "Made in Armenia". Young performer Miqael Voskanyan and the creative team MiqayelVoskanyan & Friendsband through ethno-jazz and folk- fusion sent the audience on a journey to a country with picturesque nature. Guests of the exhibition were given the opportunity to taste Armenian cognac.
This year the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Armenia marks the 25th anniversary. According to the National Statistical Service of Armenia, the foreign trade turnover between Armenia and Kazakhstan in the first half of 2017 was $ 2.3 million, with an annual growth of 56.4%. In particular, exports increased by 34% to $ 1.8 million, with imports increasing 3.2-fold to $ 584.3 thousand.
