Artsakh President familiarized with construction of Vardenis-Martakert highway sections

ArmInfo. On August 25, President of the Republic of Artsakh Bako Sahakyan visited Martakert and Shahumyan districts, got acquainted with the construction of various sections of the Vardenis-Martakert highway in the field.

According to the press service of the head of the Artsakh state, in the Shahumyan region the President convened a meeting on issues related to the final stage of the construction of the Vardenis-Martakert highway. Leaders and representatives of competent authorities made relevant reports.

President Sahakyan gave specific instructions on the issues discussed, stressing the need for high-quality and timely implementation of the work.

Prime Minister Araik Harutyunyan, Executive Director of the All-Armenian Fund Ara Vardanyan, other officials, attended the meeting.

To note, the construction of the Vardenis (Armenia) - Martakert (NKR) highway with a length of 116 kilometers, as a strategic program approved by the Board of Attorneys of the Hayastan Fund, will provide an alternative link between Armenia and the NKR. The activation of the motorway Vardenis (Armenia) - Martakert (NKR) is of key strategic and socio-economic importance. The new road will not only activate the lives of 22 small and large communities along the route, but will also contribute to the development of tourism and the economy of the two countries as a whole.
