According to Armenian Agriculture Ministry press service, Thomas, having tasted Armenian wines, highly appreciated their special taste and quality of Armenian grapes. "For me, Armenia is a very interesting country, as it is one of the birthmarks of wine. Armenian wines can take a special place in the wine market due to special varieties of grapes," said Frank Thomas.
Executive Director of the Wine-Growing and Winemaking Fund of Armenia, Zaruhi Muradyan, noted the importance of such events to raise awareness of Armenia's wines: "The high assessment of the world- famous sommelier will open our wines to new markets." The fund supports all initiatives related to the increase of the Armenian wine rating and the emergence of new opportunities for access to new markets. Founder of the company TOVMASYAN EFB Varduhi Tovmasyan has been exporting Armenian wines to the European market for several years and stresses that interest to them is increasing every year. The buyer is looking for novelties, a product that, although it is a novelty, has an interesting history, like Armenian wines. She also noted that the Armenian Diaspora plays an important role in wine markets, informing the public about Armenian wines.
At the end of the event, Thomas shared his impressions of Armenian herbal teas and the wines produced in Armenia. Participants also discussed the prospects of supplying wine to European consumers.
