ArmInfo. It is necessary to ensure the return of VAT to the exporters of cognac and wine in a more short time. This was stated by the Armenian Prime Minister on September 7 at a government meeting.
The prime minister recalled that according to the current procedure, when exporting products, goods, VAT refund is carried out within 90 days, and the government strictly monitors discipline in this direction. At the same time, according to the head of the government, during the meetings with representatives of wine and cognac companies, the last question was raised regarding the terms of VAT refunds for exports, which in some cases may create certain financial difficulties for them.
During today's meeting of the Armenian government, Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan instructed on the terms of the return of the value-added tax for exports in the wine-making and viticulture sector. Based on the foregoing, Karen Karapetyan instructed the chairman of the State Revenue Committee Vardan Harutyunyan to examine and submit proposals to the Government Office for a two-day period to establish a shorter VAT refund period for export by companies engaged in processing grapes. In this connection, the Prime Minister instructed the Minister of Agriculture of Armenia Ignati Arakelyan to present the list of exporting companies to the CGD. At the same time, Vardan Harutyunyan was instructed to establish a special regime during the procurement period.
According to the National Statistical Service, wine production in Armenia in the first half of 2017 increased by 29.8% compared to the same period in 2016 and amounted to 3.8 million liters, cognac - by 60.9% and amounted to 14 million liters, and The production of vodka decreased by 36% and amounted to 2.44 million liters.According to the report of the Customs Service of Armenia, in 2016 Armenia exported 1.8 million liters of wine with an annual growth of 27.7%, with the customs value increasing by 43.6% to $ 5.9 million.During the first half of the year, wine exports increased by 61% to 1,271,900 liters, while the customs value increased by 84.3% to $ 4.7 million.
